Barebones AUDITIONS & SHOW

BAREBONES presents
The ATTACK of the 24 HOUR PLAYS
Saturday, July 29, 2006

AUDITIONS at 9 am
SHOW at 8 pm
Saturday, July 29, 2006

Theatre Charlotte
501 Queens Road

(Charlotte, NC) -- BareBones Theatre Group revives the popular and zany 24 Hour Play project with the ‘Revenge of the 24 Hour Plays,’ Saturday, July 29, 2006. OPEN CALL AUDITIONS will be held at 9 am Saturday, July 29; the production will be at 8 pm on Saturday, July 29. All events will take place at Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Road, as part of the “What The F*&%tival?!” summer theatre festival at TC. This project is produced by Jim Yost and Anne Lambert.

The idea behind the 24 Hour Plays is simple – write, cast, rehearse and perform six short plays in 24 Hours! On Friday, July 28 at 8 pm, six playwrights will be given a particular suggestion (in the form of a quotation, song, picture, etc.). They’ll each have 12 hours to write a 10 minute play, returning with their completed script by 8 am on Saturday morning. Scripts will be randomly assigned to directors; actors will arrive at 9 am for open call auditions and will be cast right away. The shows will go into rehearsal immediately, and will be performed in front of an audience – ready or not! -- at 8 pm.

Tickets are $10 at the door; seating is general admission. For more info, call Theatre Charlotte at (704) 334-9128 or go online to: CarolinaTix.org

AUDITIONS: Actors should arrive promptly at 9 am on Saturday morning to audition. Bring a picture and resume, if available, but if you don’t have one, don’t worry! No experience is necessary to audition for the 24 Hour Plays. After all, it’s just one day, how bad can it be!! Actors will be given a short scene or monologue to read, and directors will select the actors immediately, so be prepared to go into rehearsal right away if cast. Auditions take place at Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Road. Park in the TC lot or on the street; additional parking around the corner on Colonial Ave.

For more information about the 24 Hour Plays, call (704) 332-5300 and leave a message.

New Member here

Hello all I am a new member here. I must say I have a passion for making films. My dream is to be able to make a full length film one day. I am somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to making a film of any length. I film, edit, make my own music, write a little, and sound editting. I am by no means a professional... yet. Well I just wanted to say hey to everyone in here and feel free to message me if you ever want to chat with me.

WANTED: Artists & Performers by Carolina Actor's Studio

From June 8th - July 1st, Carolina Actor's Studio Theatre will present the regional premiere of Rembrandt's Gift by Tina Howe, to commemorate Rembrandt's 400th birthday!CAST's mission is to produce "Experiential Theatre". The experience we would like to provide for this production is a "live gallery" event where artists of all persuasions engage their chosen passion --- some ideas (and we are not limited to or by them) are sketch artists doing caricatures of patrons (these artists are free to accept money for themselves, CAL, or, CAST.) Paintings and other art including photography may be displayed and also labeled for sale. Live "performance art", human sculpture, mime, street performers and any and all other ideas to make this "The Event" would be wonderfully collaborative and we could help raise even more awareness jointly for CAST and CAL.Tickets are on sale now. CAST will donate $3.00 to CAL for every ticket sold. Our hopes are to help CAL continue to nurture the needs of area artists. For tickets, to display, sell, or create your work during this event, please call director Michael Simmons at 704-455-8542 or email production manager Natasha Parnian at NatashaParnian@yahoo.com
