 BAREBONES presents
The ATTACK of the 24 HOUR PLAYS
Saturday, July 29, 2006
AUDITIONS at 9 am
SHOW at 8 pm
Saturday, July 29, 2006
Theatre Charlotte
501 Queens Road
(Charlotte, NC) -- BareBones Theatre Group revives the popular and zany 24 Hour Play project with the ‘Revenge of the 24 Hour Plays,’ Saturday, July 29, 2006. OPEN CALL AUDITIONS will be held at 9 am Saturday, July 29; the production will be at 8 pm on Saturday, July 29. All events will take place at Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Road, as part of the “What The F*&%tival?!” summer theatre festival at TC. This project is produced by Jim Yost and Anne Lambert.
The idea behind the 24 Hour Plays is simple – write, cast, rehearse and perform six short plays in 24 Hours! On Friday, July 28 at 8 pm, six playwrights will be given a particular suggestion (in the form of a quotation, song, picture, etc.). They’ll each have 12 hours to write a 10 minute play, returning with their completed script by 8 am on Saturday morning. Scripts will be randomly assigned to directors; actors will arrive at 9 am for open call auditions and will be cast right away. The shows will go into rehearsal immediately, and will be performed in front of an audience – ready or not! -- at 8 pm.
Tickets are $10 at the door; seating is general admission. For more info, call Theatre Charlotte at (704) 334-9128 or go online to: CarolinaTix.org
AUDITIONS: Actors should arrive promptly at 9 am on Saturday morning to audition. Bring a picture and resume, if available, but if you don’t have one, don’t worry! No experience is necessary to audition for the 24 Hour Plays. After all, it’s just one day, how bad can it be!! Actors will be given a short scene or monologue to read, and directors will select the actors immediately, so be prepared to go into rehearsal right away if cast. Auditions take place at Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Road. Park in the TC lot or on the street; additional parking around the corner on Colonial Ave.
For more information about the 24 Hour Plays, call (704) 332-5300 and leave a message. |

One Comedic, Character Actor Needed for Short Film |
|
"After 9, It Gets a Little Blue" a Chapel Hill based sketch comedy show, will be shooting thier first short film in July of 2006.
The production still has need of one talented comedic character actor in his late twenties, early thirties. He should be able to project an essence of being a "bada$$" and be willing to shave his head for the role.
The part will be quite the resume piece for the right person, and the film will be marketed to Film Fests and Local TV Shows.
The actor must commit to no less than 2, no more than 4 rehearsals and two ten-hour days over a weekend in July. Although you will have to be around for the two days, you will not be working the entire time. You will be well feed during the shoot and you will receive a DVD of the film after Post Production.
NON-PAYING, NO SAG, THIS IS PERFECT FOR THE YOUNGER ACTOR TRYING TO GAIN EXPERIENCE. LOCAL TO CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA (GREENSBORO TO RALEIGH) ONLY PLEASE!!!
AGENTS, THIS FILM WILL BE A GREAT OPPURTUNITY FOR YOUR NEWER CLIENTS

Indie Mini DV Trailer Completion @ Carolina Pinnacle Studios |
|
This production will take place on Feb.4, 2006 at Carolina Pinnacle Studios in Yanceyville. The name of the project is "Hey Mister, Gotta Light?" This project is the completion of earlier shot footage that will be utilized in the creation of 2 trailers and perhaps a teaser as well. The completed piece will be entered into film competions, hopefully, in the "Works In Progress" catergory. Casting wise we're looking for Black men and women in the age range of late 20's/early 30's to late 40's to early 50's or individuals who can play those ages. Crew is also needed especially script supervisor, hair, make-up, grips and gaffers. Someone to assist on the camera/dolly would also be great. For more information email stonesoupdmi@netscape.net or call 336-514-0893, ask for Rodney. I look forward to working with whomever will come.
