CAST Premieres Sam Shepard's Latest Play
EventCAST (carolina actors studio theatre) launches the 2006 New Year by premiering Sam Shepard’s newest and possibly riskiest psycho-drama, "The Late Henry Moss".

Opening this Thursday January 12 and playing through February 4th this edgy and intense production chronicles the lives of two brothers struggling to overcome the affects of childhood violence and abuse doled out by their alcoholic father (Henry Moss); all while his corpse lays covered next to them – the result of a spell cast by an Indian Seductress of Death. Considered by many to be Shepard's greatest work, this play not only explores the consequences of Henry's behavior but also the root causes - Henry, like Shepard's real father served in World War II and returned ravaged by the horrors he experienced. There was no place for normalcy upon his homecoming and thus solace was sought through "the bottle" and rage exacted upon the innocent.

Like many of CAST's previous productions not only the stage but the venue in general has experienced a retro-fit, the set distressed to reveal a run down adobe dwelling and the bar/reception area transformed into a Mexican cantina complete with live pres-show entertainment. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings only. Seats are limited and reservations strongly suggested.

Tickets are $15 for Adults and $12 for Students and Seniors. Due to the intense nature of this drama parental discretion is advised: This performance contains profanity, violence, brief nudity and drunken rumbas!
